About Us

Greetings all!

The ‘Circle of Friends Artisan Shoppe’ will be reopening in May under the auspices of our new Eastshore Circle of Friends Society.

The Circle officially separated from Riondel Parks and Recreation Feb 28, 2015; our new society was incorporated on Feb 6, 2015. The mandate of our society is ‘to enhance and encourage artistic development on the East Shore of Kootenay Lake’; the mandate will be served by operating the artisan shop and having events.

The Board of Directors 2017 includes: Muriel Crowe (President), Brenda Panio (Treasurer),  Nancy Schmaus (Secretary) and Bonnie Anderson, Director at Large.

The shop will continue with weekends only May/June/September, and open 7 days/week July and August.  The shop is scheduled to open the May Long Weekend.

MEMBERSHIP UPDATE

We are now a society as well as an artisan shop. To that end, we have developed a two part membership.

In the Society – membership is open to the public, 19 and older; annual fee of $10.00 allows for voting rights in the society; must register as an individual.

In the Artisan Shop – must be a member of the society to display works in the shop (youth under 19 may be sponsored by special arrangement); seasonal fee, in addition to society fee, of $15.00 plus be responsible for 10 hours of volunteer time in the shop (if you can’t work the hours yourself, you can make arrangements for someone else to do them for you); consignment fee remains at 30%. As before, pricing of items for sale is up to you, however, if you have items on display elsewhere, we ask that pricing be consistent with other locations. Artisans who work as a team, display their works jointly, and share the income derived from sales, may share the artisan fee.

If you are interested in continuing, or starting! your relationship with the Circle of Friends, please complete the attached membership application and return it with your payment by mail (address above) or in person to any board member. We look forward to working with you!!
